The idea behind the FLARM®-Radar Project is to create a radar-like software using the datastream from a regular FLARM® device installed stationary on the air field. The project aims to deliver an open and extensible server platform for airspace traffic monitoring in the tuning area of the ground device. In contrast to other products for mobile devices FLARM®-Radar covers aspects like
- airspace monitoring
- automatically record landings and takeoffs at an airfield
- provide an open REST interface to integrate with existing programs (accounting, etc.)
- ... and there are many more ideas
The project is Opensource and licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0.
